Preferably in W. Visayas, in Bacolod would be much better...   It is the plant the gov't. is pushing for, making oil, biofuels. Not replacing sugarcane. Its the best option to plant in mined out areas, and as hedgrows.

Instead of growing it from scratch, ask for a twig and plant it. It will grow to a shrub. Try your local agricultural stores if they have the seed of Tuba-tuba.

don't venture into experimental sources of ethanol.  better stick to sugarcane or cassava  for ethanol because they have ready available market than jatropha.**

Manila Seedlings Bank have alot of them. But if you're in the Visayas area, i know public schools have a lot of them. Or you can ask your friendly neighborhood sari-sari store, i'm sure she knew a friend or two who have tuba-tuba in their backyard. it's easy to propagate. you don't even need a seed to start with, just break a good mature branch, stick it in a suitable ground and in a month, you'll have a nice tuba-tuba growing. believe me, my mom has two tuba-tuba trees.
